Through volunteer governance and management committees, United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County carefully manages its operations so more donor dollars go to help people in our community. We are proud that our local United Way has one of the lowest overhead costs of any major United Way in the country, with 93 cents of every dollar donated going to programs that change lives and strengthens families.

United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County continues to lead the country in keeping costs low:

• lower than the average overhead of other United Way communities
• significantly lower than the nonprofit industry standard, as reported by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance

Annual Audit

The annual audit of United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009 was reviewed and accepted by the United Way Executive Committee on November 17, 2009.
